We Are All Ice Cubes

Do you compare yourself to others? It’s easy to do. You may observe others and feel smarter than them. You may feel less than others and be thinking to yourself that they are handling things much better than you.   It can be helpful to remember what author Brian Weiss has said:  “Think of all humans as ice-cubes.  Some are perfectly shaped.  Some are square.  Some are round.  Some are chipped.  Some are large and some are small.  But if you heat up any of the ice-cubes, they ALL melt into the same shape and form.  We are immortal.  We don’t die.  We are our souls.”  Try internalizing this message today and see if you find yourself more confidently and compassionately approaching your day. Perhaps you’ll see others not by their actions or how they look on the outside but who they are on the inside. And maybe you’ll see that they are really a lot like you. Might just change your life.
